This Month in Gurzu - April 2025

Dear Readers,

April at Gurzu was all about fresh starts and meaningful moments. With the Nepali New Year, we took time to reflect on the past and set new goals for what’s ahead. It was also a month of learning, sharing ideas, and spending time together as a team. From celebrations to knowledge-sharing sessions, April gave us a little bit of everything.

Here’s a look back at the month that was.

Knowledge Ketchup

For those new to it, Knowledge Ketchup is our flavorful twist on the classic ‘lunch and learn.’ Each week, a Gurzu team member takes the stage to share something that they know with the rest of the team.

Here are the sessions we had this month:

Tax rates on individual income and freelancers : April 9

In our latest session, Sarojan broke down tax rates on individual income and freelancers, a topic every professional should understand, especially in the gig economy. From tax brackets to smart tips for freelancers, it was an eye-opening and practical discussion. Find the slide deck here.

SOLID principal in OOP : April 23

What makes code truly SOLID?  In this session, Kiran walked us through the SOLID principles of Object-Oriented Programming. Find the slide deck here.

We discussed our favorite memories of the past year and resolution for the one ahead. We ended the day with food, karaoke, and lots of fun. A great reminder that growth and joy can go together.
